MOSCOW, January 3 (RIA Novosti) - The gas conflict with Ukraine will not push up gas prices in Russia, an official spokesman for Russian natural gas giant Gazprom said Tuesday in a live interview with Russia's popular radio station.
Sergei Kupriyanov told Ekho Moskvy that domestic gas prices were unrelated to Gazprom's operations on external markets. "Now we are compensating for gas volumes, which Ukraine siphoned off on its territory but it will have to pay for such volumes, and this situation cannot continue indefinitely," Kupriyanov said.
