DUSHANBE, January 4 (RIA Novosti) - Tajik drug police confiscated over 922 kilograms of drugs, including 561 kilograms of heroin, in 2005, the head of the Tajik drug enforcement agency said Wednesday.
According to Avaz Yuldashev, last year saw 117 drug-trafficking cases. Police seized 60 explosive devices, 3,934 ammunition items and 16 guns in their drug busts.
Tajik police conducted 40 operations jointly with enforcement agencies of CIS states and Afghanistan, confiscating more than 1.5 metric tons of narcotics, including over 510 kilograms of heroin.
