MOSCOW, January 6 (RIA Novosti) - Russian tennis player Vera Zvonaryova will meet Marion Bartoli of France in the final of the ASB Classic championship in Auckland, New Zealand.
The 21-year-old Russian, seeded eighth, beat second seed Daniela Hantuchova 6-2 6-2 Friday to reach her seventh WTA Tour singles final.
Bartoli, seeded sixth, won her semi-final match against the tournament favorite, Russian player Nadia Petrova, 3-6 6-4 2-1, after Petrova was forced to retire in the final set with a groin strain.
The ASB Classic hardcourt tournament has a prize pool of $145,000.
