NOVOSIBIRSK, January 8 (RIA Novosti, Maksim Koshmarchuk) - Russia's passenger jet bound from Siberia to the Philippines was denied entry into Mongolian air space Sunday.

Yulia Kudinova, a spokeswoman for Novosibirsk's international airport, said the Il-62 plane of the Domodedovo Airlines, with 160 passengers on board, took off last night but had to return after Mongolia refused to let it fly over its territory.

"The plane was not allowed to fly over Mongolia because the operating company had failed to obtain permission for the flight," Kudinova said.

After negotiations with the Mongolian side, the company acquired the relevant permission and the plane left Novosibirsk at 11.30 a.m. Moscow time (8.30 GMT), Kudinova said.

According to Kudinova, the jet is still in the air but has successfully passed Mongolian territory.
