KIEV, January 9 (RIA Novosti) - Bird flu has for the first time been confirmed at a poultry farm, not in private households, in the Crimean peninsula, Ukraine's autonomy, the local veterinary department said Monday.
Fowl is being slaughtered in the Primorsky village.
Officials had earlier ruled out the possibility of the virus spreading in specialized facilities.
The village of Solnechnoye was put under quarantine. Seven infected birds were killed there.
