KIEV, January 10 (RIA Novosti) - Ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine and head of the Regions of Ukraine political party Viktor Yanukovych said Tuesday that President Yushchenko made a premature decision in declaring the government's dismissal unconstitutional.
The Ukrainian parliament, the Supreme Rada, was able to dismiss the government and appoint a new cabinet due to amendments to the Ukrainian Constitution that came into force on January 1, 2006.
Yanukovych said in an announcement published on his official Web site: "it is wrong not to give the necessary attention to such an important decision by parliament."
"I think that consultations now urgently need to be carried out between the president and Supreme Rada deputies, and a new government must be formed," he said.
