MOSCOW, January 12 (RIA Novosti) - Police have found ammunition in the apartment of a man who is said to have attacked a synagogue in central Moscow, a police source said Thursday.
"During a search of the apartment where Alexander Koptsev lives, officers found 50 5.6-mm cartridges, 14 12-gauge cartridges for a hunting rifle and a list of three synagogues [in Moscow]," the source said.
According to witnesses, the 20-year-old attacker rushed into the synagogue on Bolshaya Bronnaya Street on Wednesday night shouting, "I've come to kill you," and stabbed eight people with a hunting knife.
Four people, including the synagogue's rabbi, were left in a serious condition, and three foreigners - an American, an Israeli and a Tajik citizen - were also among the injured.
Moscow Prosecutor Anatoly Zuyev had said previously that Koptsev had been charged with attempted murder, causing premeditated bodily harm, and inciting racial or religious discord.
