"Gazprom exports of Russia's natural gas in 2006... will remain unchanged and total some 151 billion cubic meters as was originally planned," Medvedev said.
Profits for the year would also hit their original targets he said, following the deal struck earlier this month to supply Ukraine with gas via intermediary company RosUkrEnergo.
"If earlier Gazprom supplied 23-25 billion cu m per year of gas at only $50 to pay for transit [across Ukraine], today we are selling 17 billion cu m of gas to RosUkrEnergo at an initial price of $230," Medvedev said. "Gazprom will receive $230 from gas sales to RosUkrEnergo and 50% of the profits from this company's sales of [natural] gas to Europe."
RosUkrEnergo is currently 50% owned by Gazprom subsidiary Gazprombank. The company said Monday that the share would be transferred to Gazprom ahead of Gazprombank's privatization later this year.
