MOSCOW, January 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's nuclear power plants brought their annual electricity production to 147.6 billion kWh in 2005, a 3.2% increase year-on-year, the state-owned company operating the facilities said Wednesday.
Rosenergoatom said in a press release that it had prepared the country's 31 operational reactors for a ceiling output of 152.9 billion kWh last year.
It said radiation at the sites and in their surrounding areas had remained at safe levels throughout the year.
