MOSCOW, January 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Space Forces plan to begin construction of a new high-readiness radar station, Commander Col.-Gen. Vladimir Popovkin said Wednesday.
"Taking into account the experience of setting up a VHF station in the Leningrad region previously, we need to build a UHF station," Popovkin said.
He said mobile high-readiness radar stations cost substantially less to build than fixed facilities.
