IRKUTSK, January 24 (RIA Novosti, Alexander Batalin) - More than 3,000 residents of the Irkutsk region in Siberia, including 850 children, have been left without central heating after a pipeline supplying 30 residential buildings burst Tuesday, a regional Emergency Situations Ministry department said.
The 20.3-centimeter pipe is believed to have burst due to its age, and the extreme cold.
Repair work is underway.
