MOSCOW, January 26 (RIA Novosti) - Leading Russian political party United Russia urged other political parties and public organizations Thursday to join its anti-fascist initiative.
The agreement on the fight against nationalism, xenophobia and religious discord (the Anti-fascist pact) asserts that such activities are banned by law in Russia, but they should also be condemned morally.
"A public and information vacuum should be formed around those who promote fascism, racism, nationalism and xenophobia," United Russia said in a statement. "They should be considered rogues."
According to United Russia, several parties, including Free Russia, Union of Right Forces, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, the United Socialist Party of Russia, the Pensioner's Party and the Patriots of Russia have joined the Anti-fascist pact.
