KIEV, January 27 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine will provide its data on the amount of Russian gas tapped February 15, the head of Ukraine's national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy said Friday. Alexei Ivchenko said the company would have statistics on gas consumption before February 15.
The Naftogaz head declined to specify the amount of gas used by Ukraine exceeding the January limit, but admitted that the country had used "record high volumes" of gas due to a bitter cold spell.
Russian natural gas giant Gazprom said Thursday that Ukraine had consumed 80 million cu m of gas per day above the limit during the foul weather.
"Ukraine's tapping of Russian gas reached 80 million cu m per day. As a result, from January 19 through January 25, Ukraine tapped 326 million cu m of gas intended for European consumers," Gazprom said in a statement.
