GROZNY, January 31 (RIA Novosti) - The acting prime minister of Russia's North Caucasus republic of Chechnya accused certain media sources of tactless and unethical reporting Tuesday.

Ramzan Kadyrov, who is carrying out the duties of Prime Minister Sergei Abramov while he recovers from injuries sustained in a car crash, spoke out against speculation that Abramov would not resume his duties after completing his treatment.

The accident occurred in the Moscow Region in late December 2005. Abramov announced in mid-January that he would resume his duties in early February.

Kommersant, a leading Russian business daily, wrote Tuesday that Abramov was unlikely to return to his post.

Kadyrov said: "I am fulfilling the duties of prime minister in line with the Chechen Constitution; I did not and do not aim to become prime minister, and I consider the commotion that has emerged on the subject to be tactless and unethical."

He also said there were elements of the media who wanted to continue portraying Chechnya as a volatile and unstable area despite the recent positive changes in the republic.

The acting premier denied reports that there was any struggle in Chechnya for the posts of prime minister and president.
