MOSCOW, January 31 (RIA Novosti) - Vladimir Putin congratulated Tuesday the incumbent president of Finland on her re-election.
The Russian president and Tarja Halonen also discussed in a telephone conversation the development of bilateral Russian-Finnish cooperation and interaction within international organizations.
Halonen, a 62-year-old former lawyer and the country's first woman to be elected president, narrowly won the election Sunday with just over 51% of the vote.
