MOSCOW, February 3 (RIA Novosti) - There were no Russian citizens among the passengers of the Egyptian ferry that sank in the Red Sea, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Friday.
The ministry said the Russian Embassy in Cairo received this information from Egyptian authorities and the ferry's owner.
The Egyptian passenger ferry Al Salam Boccaccio 98 carrying around 1,400 people, mostly Egyptian workers and pilgrims returning from Saudi Arabia, sank in the Red Sea overnight.
According to Al Jazeera TV, about 30 people have been rescued.
