MOSCOW, February 6 (RIA Novosti) - The acting prime minister of Chechnya said Monday that Danish NGOs would be barred from the republic following the publication by a Danish newspaper of cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammed.
"We will no longer let them [Danish organizations] in, precisely for that reason," Ramzan Kadyrov told a Moscow news conference.
The cartoons depicting the prophet were subsequently republished in several other countries, and have caused a wave of anger across the Muslim world. Over the weekend, Danish and EU diplomatic premises in the Middle East were torched by protesters.
