KIEV, February 6 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine has increased its daily consumption of natural gas by 70 million cu m to cope with freezing temperatures, Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov said Monday.
"Ukraine has used 350 million cu m of natural gas in the past 24 hours, with the usual amount being 280," Yekhanurov was quoted by his spokesman as saying at a ministerial conference devoted to energy.
The prime minister highlighted the importance of introducing energy-saving technologies in Ukraine and said he had already instructed government agencies in charge of the sector to prepare relevant programs.
