"The court has adjourned its consideration of an appeal submitted by Trepashkin's lawyers against the Nizhny Tagil district court's decision to reject his appeal to grant him parole," the source said.
A military court in Moscow sentenced Trepashkin to four years in jail on May 19, 2004. The court established that from 1984 to 1997, when serving with the KGB and later as an officer with its main successor, the Federal Security Service (FSB), Trepashkin had made copies of internal documents and stored them at home.
The source added that the hearing was postponed indefinitely as the judges wanted to question Trepashkin, who was first released on parole August 31, 2005 by a court in Nizhny Tagil, where he served 18 months of the four-year sentence in a labor camp. However, the Sverdlovsk Regional Court overturned that decision and ordered a review of the case. Trepashkin was arrested in Moscow and sent back to a labor camp.
The former FSB officer is currently serving his sentence at penal colony No. 13 in Nizhny Tagil in the Sverdlovsk Region.
