MESSINA (SICILY, ITALY), February 10 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said Friday that Russia-NATO military relations were developing rapidly.
"In my opinion, they [relations] are seeing quick progress. No one is striving for total operative compatibility, but we have a necessary level [of compatibility]," Ivanov said on board the Russian missile cruiser Moskva docked in the Italian port of Messina.
He said the United States and France were Russia's key naval partners.
"As for NATO on the whole, our main efforts are focused on Operation Active Endeavor," Ivanov added.
