MOSCOW, February 10 (RIA Novosti) - Experts have proposed that energy security and energy efficiency be included on the agenda of an upcoming meeting of energy ministers of the G8 club of rich nations, the industry and energy ministry's news service said Friday.
The statement cited deputy head of the Russian Federal Energy Agency Vladimir Kuznetsov as saying that the officials responsible for the G8 energy agenda had agreed on the issues of mid- and long-term energy cooperation within the G8 during a two-day meeting.
"The broad discussions focused on major issues - energy effectiveness and energy security - in order to outline specific topics for the agenda of the upcoming ministerial meeting."
The ministry said a world conference on energy security would be held in Moscow March 13-14, before the G8 energy ministers meeting scheduled for March 15-16.
