"A State Duma delegation will begin its visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan on Monday," Boris Gryzlov said.
He said the visit would be important both for developing bilateral cooperation, and deepening the integration processes in former Soviet countries.
"We will have an opportunity to discuss in depth the key aspects of interaction between Russia and Uzbekistan with President Islam Karimov, as well as with the speakers of both houses of the Uzbek parliament," Gryzlov said.
He added that relations between the two countries were founded on mutual respect and mutual interests.
"This is a relationship not simply of partners, but of allies. The Allied Relations Treaty was signed in November 2005."
Gryzlov also said that inter-parliamentary contacts should be intensified and expanded.
