MOSCOW/VLADIKAVKAZ, February 12 (RIA Novosti) - Police seized a militant from a group of gunmen who had opened fire on troops in Ingushetia, a Russian republic in the North Caucasus bordering on Chechnya, the Defense Ministry said Sunday.
According to the ministry's specified data, at about 19:30 p.m. Moscow time (about 16:30 p.m. GMT) on February 11, unidentified persons opened fire on a temporary traffic post of the 503rd mechanized infantry regiment in Ingushetia, killing one and wounding three. By retaliation fire, one of the attackers was killed.
An anti-terrorist squad sealed off the area to pursue and find the attackers. During the search operation, one of the militants was seized.
