VIENNA, February 15 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday that Iran had officially made a request to postpone uranium enrichment talks in Moscow until February 20.
"Iran, indeed, has asked us to receive the Iranian delegation on that day [February 20]. The proposal [by Russia] to set up a joint venture was made in the context of Iran's negotiations with the European Union trio as part of a package of initiatives to resolve the situation," Lavrov said.
"We are ready to continue discussing particulars with the Iranian partners but the proposal remains valid within the context of restarting the negotiations with the European trio [of Britain, France and Germany]. To this end, Iran should take efforts to re-impose the moratorium on uranium enrichment," Lavrov said.
An Iranian delegation was originally scheduled to arrive in Moscow to discuss a Russian offer to enrich Iranian uranium on its territory on February 16.
