ROME, February 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russian biathlete Olga Pyleva, who won the Olympic silver three days ago, but since tested positive for doping, was disqualified from the Olympics and stripped of her silver medal Thursday by the International Olympic Committee.
The decision made by the IOC Disciplinary Commission also means that Pyleva is facing a two-year ban from international biathlon competitions. The silver will now go to Germany's Martina Glagow and Pyleva's teammate Albina Akhatova will be given the bronze.
