MOSCOW, February 19 (RIA Novosti) - Police in Moscow have arrested a drug trafficker from Tajikistan attempting to smuggle a large batch of heroin into Russia, the Interior Ministry of Russia said Sunday.
During a search on the Dushanbe-Moscow train at the Kazansky railway station in Moscow, the police seized almost 1.5 kilograms of heroin from a Tajik woman.
According to the ministry's latest data, the law-enforcement bodies have registered 23 cases of seizing large batches of drugs in 14 regions of Russia in the past twenty-four hours. Overall, the police seized more than five kilograms of hashish, three kilograms of opium and 1.5 kilograms of marijuana.
