MOSCOW, February 20 (RIA Novosti) - Russian oil production climbed 2.2% year-on-year in 2005 to reach 469.6 million metric tons (around 9.4 mln barrels per day), whereas exports declined 2% to 252.5 mln mt (about 5 mln bbl/d), the Federal Statistics Service said Monday.
Domestic crude sales hit 207.4 mln mt (4.2 bbl/d), a 6.2% increase on 2004.
Production in December 2005 totaled 40.8 mln mt, up 3.1% year-on-year, and domestic sales during the month climbed 3.9% year-on-year to 18.2 mln mt, whereas exports fell 3.4% to 22.2 mln mt.
Crude exports accounted for 34.6% of the country's total exports in 2005, and 54.1% of its fuel exports. In 2004, these figures were 32.1% and 56.2% respectively.
The average oil export price in December was $352 per ton ($48/bbl), down 3% month-on-month.
The world price for Urals crude during the month was $394.1 per ton ($53.7/bbl), up 4.4% on November.
