MOSCOW, February 21 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, for a two-day routine visit.
Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade and Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met the Russian leader at the airport along with a guard of honor.
Putin is expected to attend the opening ceremony of the Year of Russia in Azerbaijan, meet with the leaders of the country's religious communities, and visit a Russian national exhibition.
On his arrival, Putin is to lay a wreath to the monument of former president of Azerbaijan Geidar Aliyev in central Baku.
