BAKU, February 24 (RIA Novosti) - The health minister of Azerbaijan is heading for Moscow following Thursday's collapse of a market, which left about 60 people dead, at least half of them Azerbaijani nationals, the ministry's press office said Friday.
Oktai Shiraliyev, traveling to the Russian capital at President Ilkham Aliyev's request, will arrange for the Azerbaijani victims' bodies to be transported to their native country for burial.
The roof of Moscow's Basmanny market caved in in the early hours Thursday as vendors, most of them migrants from Azerbaijan and other former Soviet republics, were beginning to set up.
The buildup of heavy snow, design flaws and maintenance errors are the most likely causes of the collapse, investigators say.
