MOSCOW, March 1 (RIA Novosti) - The latest round of hearings in the plagiarism suit involving business daily Vedomosti and RBK agency will be heard at a Moscow arbitration court March 13, court officials said Wednesday.
In a suit launched in December, Vedomosti's publisher, Business News Media, claims RBK should pay some $10 million in damages for citing about a hundred Vedomosti stories verbatim without credit or attribution. Proceedings have been suspended following a January 24 court ruling.
In another Moscow court, hearings are currently underway on a counter-suit filed by RBK against three Vedomosti writers, a lawyer said.
He said RBK had challenged Vedomosti's copyright to the news content cited by the agency on its website, adding that the outcome of the March 13 appeal hearing would largely depend on what kind of decision was handed down on this counter-suit.
