PRAGUE, March 1 (RIA Novosti) - Russia should not be the only country to provide global energy security, the Russian president said Wednesday.
Vladimir Putin, speaking at a news conference during his official visit to Prague, said: "When people speak about energy security, why is it that everybody thinks Russia should ensure energy security for the whole world? Everyone seems to have forgotten that Russia also needs assistance in energy security. Otherwise, equality in global cooperation will be unachievable."
The president said that unfortunately, Russia was faced with attempts to restrict its activity in nuclear and electric energy on the European market.
"But we are not trying to dramatize the situation, and will be seeking equality," he said.
