GROZNY, March 4 (RIA Novosti) - The parliament of Chechnya will review the candidacy of Ramzan Kadyrov for the post of the republic's prime minister Saturday.

On Thursday, President of Chechnya Alu Alkhanov officially submitted to the local legislature the name of Kadyrov, 29, as a candidate for the vacant post of prime minister. Kadyrov, the son of the late president Akhmad Kadyrov, has served as acting premier since Sergei Abramov was injured in a car accident in November last year and filed resignation February 28.

The parliament's session is scheduled for 2.00 p.m. Moscow time (11.00 a.m. GMT). Forty deputies of the parliament's lower house, 24 of whom are members of the pro-Kremlin United Russia party, are set to make a decision on Kadyrov's premiership.

Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov, the lower house speaker, said he had no doubts that the deputies "would unanimously support Kadyrov."

"As a matter of fact, Kadyrov is already an incumbent premier who has proved his ability to manage both the economy and power structures in several months," the speaker said.
