MOSCOW, March 14 (RIA Novosti) - Inflation in Russia from the beginning of the year reached 4.3% on March 6, a source in the Russian government said Tuesday, citing the State Statistics Service.
The service previously announced that consumer price growth in the first two months of 2006 was up on the previous year. Prices rose 1.7% in February 2006, compared to 1.2% in February 2005, and 4.1% in the first two months of 2006, up from 3.9% in the same period of last year.
At a government meeting on Wednesday, Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin, and Central Bank Chairman Sergei Ignatyev will propose measures to restrain consumer price growth.
