Haidar Murad, chairman of the Jordanian Chamber of Commerce, said that the fifth running of the show indicated high Jordanian interest in developing trade and economic relations with Russia.
Russia-Expo 2006 also hopes to strengthen ties with markets in Iraq, which borders Jordan.
"We view this exhibition as a cooperation bridge for Russian business with Iraq," said Anatoly Karpov, president of the International Association of Peace Foundations, adding that many Iraqi companies currently prefer to do business in Jordan given the unstable situation at home.
Krapov said an international conference on prospects for trilateral cooperation between the countries will also be held during the show.
Russia-Expo runs through March 16.
