CANNES, March 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's economic development and trade minister said Tuesday that inflation in 2006 could be kept down to 9%.
"In my opinion, we have an opportunity to stay within the limits of the planned 9%," German Gref said. He refused to comment on a Finance Ministry forecast of 10%.
"I cannot comment on other suppositions," he said. "Two months [of 2006] are not enough to judge the results."
Russia's inflation stood at 4.1% in January-February 2006. According to the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, it will be 1% in March.
