MOSCOW, March 17 (RIA Novosti) - Zenit St. Petersburg, Russia's lone survivor in this season's European soccer club competitions, will face off against Spain's Sevilla in the UEFA Cup two-leg quarterfinals series, according to the UEFA draw conducted Friday in the Dutch city of Eindhoven.
Zenit advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Olympique Marseille, 2-1 on aggregate, with a narrow victory, 1:0 in the first-leg away match at the Velodrome Arena and a 1:1 tie at home Thursday.
The remaining teams in the UEFA CUP quarterfinals draw are as follows:
Basel (Switzerland) - Middlesbrough (England)
Steaua (Romania) - Rapid (Romania)
Schalke (Germany) - Levski (Bulgaria)
The first legs will be played on March 30 and the second legs on April 6. The final is set for Eindhoven on May 10.
