YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, March 18 (RIA Novosti, Petr Tysrendorzhiyev) - Russia's oil-rich island of Sakhalin should be the first among its Far East territories to move away from net federal subsidies, the presidential envoy to the Far East Federal District said Saturday.
"Nearly 80% of the budget comes from regional revenues. This is the highest among Russia's Federation components in the Far East," Kamil Iskhakov told a meeting with regional authorities.
