KIEV, March 26 (RIA Novosti) - Long queues at polling stations have become a major problem during the parliamentary elections in Ukraine, an independent body monitoring the elections said Sunday.
The Ukrainian Voters' Committee said it takes three to four minutes to obtain a ballot preceded by 30 to 45 minutes' standing in a queue. A voter has to wait another 10-15 minutes for his or her turn at a polling booth.
The committee also registered violations at elections to the local bodies of power and forecasted that the results of voting at some polling stations would be invalidated. For instance, the committee established that a final protocol had already been signed in the town of Debaltseve, eastern Ukraine, on late March 25.
Discrepancies have also been revealed with electoral lists. For example, a local mayor in the east of the country, responsible for the accuracy of the lists, was registered under a wrong address.
