MOSCOW, April 1, (RIA Novosti) - A Russian deputy defense minister said Saturday the transition to a one-year conscription service would be definitely completed by 2008.
"This is a difficult task for the military, but the decision by the country's leadership will be meticulously carried out," Gen. Nikolai Pankov said.
