MOSCOW, April 6 (RIA Novosti) - Russia has increased customs duties on exports of petroleum products, a government press service said Thursday.

Export tariffs on heavy petroleum products rose by $2.40 to $74.30 per metric ton, whereas customs duties on exports of light petroleum products grew by $17.20 to $137.90 per metric ton.

According to a decree signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov, the increase covers petroleum products designed for export outside the member countries of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) Customs Union, which comprises several former Soviet states.

The regulation will come into force one month after official publication.
