BUENOS-AIRES, April 7 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian government is ready to facilitate energy giant Gazprom's (RTS: GAZP) entrance to the Latin American market, the prime minister said Friday.
However, Mikhail Fradkov told representatives of Argentina's business community during an official visit to the country that the move required corporate discussion and lay under the corporate law.
"But as a government representative, I can say that we are prepared to promote Gazprom to the Latin American market, given the company's potential, experience on land and on the shelf, and knowledge of the world market," Fradkov said.
He added that Gazprom could become a partner in the Venezuela-Brazil-Argentina transcontinental gas pipeline project.
