MOSCOW, April 13 (RIA Novosti) - The press service of the Russian Pacific Fleet denied Thursday reports of a fire onboard a nuclear submarine in the Kamchatka submarine flotilla in Russia's Far East.
Pacific Fleet spokesman Igor Dygalo said welding works caused insignificant ignition and fumigation in a compartment of a submarine at dock in the town of Vilyuchinsk.
"This is not classified as an accident or fire," he said adding that repair works were continuing in the submarine.
Dygalo also said there was no threat of an explosion or radioactive contamination.
