MOSCOW, April 20 (RIA Novosti) - Turkmenistan has proposed increasing natural gas supplies to Russia, a deputy Gazprom CEO said Thursday, adding there was a chance the Central Asian country could re-route its exports to other countries.
Alexander Ryazanov said that supplies would grow from mid-2006 by 22% to 50 billion cubic meters annually. But, asked if more Turkmen gas could go to energy hungry China, he said, "theoretically, there are concerns that Turkmenistan could agree with other partners".
Ryazanov said the volume of future gas supplies would depend on the price, but gave no details. "The talks are not easy," he said.
