WASHINGTON, April 21 (RIA Novosti) - One of the main tasks of the Russian delegation at the IMF's spring session will be the promotion of Russian ideas in the G8, Russia's finance minister said Friday.
Alexei Kudrin told a Washington news conference dedicated to the session of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank that started Friday that Russia would like to focus on promoting its ideas in the sphere of energy security, the fight against infections and the development of education.
Kudrin said Russia was reserved about the issue of revision of quotas in the IMF that define the "weight" of each country's vote in decision-making.
Earlier IMF Managing Director Rodrigo de Rato said the spring session's agenda would in particular focus on quota revision. Russia's quota is 2.78%, the U.S. quota 17%.
Kudrin said the spring session was a special one for Russia, currently chairing the G8, adding that Russia would take an active part in all events envisioned by the agenda.
