TASHKENT, April 29 (RIA Novosti) - A regional security alliance of five ex-Soviet states and China will draw up a comprehensive list of terrorists and groups operating in Eurasia to boost the efficiency of their counter-terrorism efforts, a senior official said Saturday.
Vyacheslav Kasymov, managing director of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's anti-terror unit, said the list would be compiled using databases provided by the security forces of individual member countries - Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and China.
The comprehensive terrorist list is part of SCO efforts to improve counter-terrorism cooperation in the face of growing Islamic fundamentalism in post-Soviet Central Asia and a surging inflow of cheap opium and heroin from neighboring Afghanistan.
