Iran's Foreign Ministry called on the Iran-6 negotiators Wednesday to acknowledge that it now has nuclear technologies and will not renounce its right to civilian nuclear energy.

TEHRAN, May 3 (RIA Novosti) - Iran's Foreign Ministry called on the Iran-6 negotiators Wednesday to acknowledge that it now has nuclear technologies and will not renounce its right to civilian nuclear energy.

Following negotiations in Paris between the Iran-6 - the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France, and Germany - a ministry spokesman said the "international community has no misgivings about Iran's nuclear program," but said individual countries should not claim to represent global opinion.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is a country that has nuclear technologies, and will not renounce its right [to civilian nuclear energy]," the spokesman said. "This reality should be acknowledged by all sides."

"However, the United States and some other countries are hypocritically casting their own demands as the demands of the entire international community," the diplomat said, adding that instead of threats the Paris negotiators should look for more reasonable solutions to the Iranian nuclear problem.

"Threats will only deepen the problem further and hinder the search for a solution," he said.

The official said that the threat of referring Iran to the UN Security Council was "ineffective," and that the Islamic Republic would not yield to threats.
