MOSCOW, May 7 (RIA Novosti) - President Vladimir Putin has congratulated the Kremlin regiment with the 70th anniversary of its establishment and given it a new combat banner, the presidential press office said Sunday.
The regiment is a special service responsible for guarding top state officials and the Kremlin itself.
At a ceremony of giving a new combat banner held on the Kremlin's Ivanovskaya Square, Putin expressed the hope that the servicemen of the presidential regiment would continue its glorious traditions.
The new banner will be kept on the territory of the Kremlin where the headquarters of the presidential regiment are located.
