MOSCOW, May 16 (RIA Novosti) - Iran's controversial nuclear problems will not be on the agenda of the G8 summit in St. Petersburg, but leaders could discuss the issue on the sidelines of official events, a Russian presidential aide said Tuesday.
Igor Shuvalov, who is President Vladimir Putin's representative within the club of industrialized nations, said G8 foreign ministers would discuss the escalating crisis around the Islamic Republic on June 29, shortly before the summit opens on July 15.
"This topic will be discussed in detail by foreign ministers, who will adopt a statement," Igor Shuvalov told journalists.
