MOSCOW, May 17 (RIA Novosti) - Wimm-Bill-Dann (RTS: WBDF) announced net profits to Russian Accounting Standards of 99.94 million rubles ($3.7 mln) in the first quarter of 2006, against net losses of 33.696 mln rubles ($1.25 mln) in the same period of 2005.
Revenue in January-March totaled 176.3 mln ($6.54 mln), up 50.1% year on year, while gross profit climbed 47.4% to 169.7 mln ($6.3 mln).
Wimm-Bill-Dann is Russia's largest producer of juice and dairy products, with brands including J7 (juice), Domik v derevne (milk and other dairy products), and Chudo (yogurt). The company owns 30 production facilities in Russia and other CIS countries, and employs more than 17,000 people.
