MOSCOW, May 17 (RIA Novosti) - Delegates attending a council of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia have approved a resolution on reunification with the Moscow Patriarchate, the church said on its Web site Wednesday/The IV All-Diaspora Council in San Francisco was convened for the first time in 32 years specifically to discuss relations between the two churches.
The statement said "obvious unity of spirit was expressed on the principle question, that the culmination of its constructive work will be the reestablishment of the desired unity of the Local Russian Church, as was expressed in the Epistle of the Council."
The Council ran from May 7 through 14 and hosted 140 delegates from the Americas, Europe, Australia and the former Soviet Union.
